Food is delicious and portions are generous. It was a little weird having to cut my own chicken for the warm winter salad though…nQuaint and rustic atmosphere.nStaff are lovely but the venue loses two stars for having to order at the bar and also bring your own drinks to the table. The restaurant is not small so wait staff should be taking orders at the table and then bringing drinks to the table as well.nWe would return =]
Excellent pub in Arrowtown we had a lunch the portions were very tasty and filling we had chicken liver pate and tuna ceviche
The Fork & Tap is Arrowtown at its best! It’s warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious. The staff are lovely and rather good looking hahah sorry!! The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, with a perfect balance between old-world charm and buzzing local energy. The food is consistently outstanding, from beautifully cooked pub classics to creative seasonal dishes but I would recommend the pizza too - Staff treat you like old friends, and service is quick without ever feeling rushed. Whether you’re here for a sunny afternoon in the garden with some live music or a fireside dinner on a chilly night, you’ll leave already planning your next visit. An Arrowtown must-do, it’s the go-to for the locals.
Honestly had the best chips I’ve ever had in life here and that’s a big call from me. If you have the kind of love for hot chips that I do, you have to go here and get the fish and chips as the chips are thick and cooked in beef fat where the other meals may just be normal shoe string chips. All the meals we were served were huge and super tasty!!!nStaff were so friendly and helpful, especially Larry the manager.nReally cute atmosphere too, especially in the winter - so cosy.nVery impressed and would come back anytime I’m in the area.
I’m a bit after the fact, but the food was incredible. I wish I could give a higher rating, but they charged a surcharge on Easter Sunday citing it was a public holiday we chose to eat out that day because it wasn’t a public holiday, therefore, no surcharge. So obviously, it was more expensive than it needed to be. It isn’t legal to do this in NZ, but the place was packed and so they took more money than they should have that day. Was just really disappointed because it was otherwise amazing. Just beware of this if you’re going around a public holiday.
