Used to be a big fan of this shop, but the quality of the food has been lacking a lot recently.nLast week, it was like half of my chips were old ones that were microwaved and then mixed with normal ones. They tasted old and were very soggy.nDecided to try it again today and it wasn't as bad, although the oil still tasted very old, and gave us a bit of an upset stomach.nCertainly won't be coming back here for a while.
Beautiful fresh fish, chips cooked perfectly.nPolite customer service. Easy to order online.nTold us to help ourselves to the container of lemons on the counter, which was the perfect addition for our fish.
The lady was on the phone while serving customers as well as handling food with her bear hands no gloves and no washing them. Then proceeded to touch her clothing while making dealing with the food. Had a hair net on but doesn't have all her hair up in the net just has her pony tail flapping around. Also microwaved a spring role instead of deep frying it. Will not be coming back here
The gurnard is sto die for, love the pork wontons, burgers are good. Toasties are terrible.nnLove the guy who runs it but when hes not there it can be a hit and a miss
After doing some research on the local facebook page we decided on ordering from Fish Cove. Easy online ordering that lets you know when your order is ready... Fresh gurnard, crab sticks and kumara chips - was all delicious! Very well priced too! Highly recommended.
