What an absolutely fantastic place to stay at! Our family from Napier - Wellington - Perth 15 of us from age 70 to 8 years spent a fabulous 7 days reconnecting after not being able to for 7 years and we all had an amazing holiday, the accommodation, outdoor and indoor activities were outstanding, there was something for everyone along with celebrating New Year 2023. To quote one of the grandchildren “it was the best holiday ever”. Thank you to our wonderful hosts Greg & Rachel for providing this fantastic place for people to stay and experience farm life. Cheers The Mortensen Family - New Zealand and Australia
Beautiful slice of heaven. Accommodation, scenery and hospitality is the exceptional. Always a relaxed welcome feel, you won't ever want to leave. Highly recommend paying for meals as Rachel' s nourishing home cooked meals are five star.
When you come in through the big barn doors, it feels like you have arrived somehow. Your heart is in the lake, the swans, the mountains and the thousands of trees and you skip the city breath you were about to take and instead breath in deeply the rhythm that resonates from the place. And then you get to meet Rachel and Gregg. And you stop to talking to hear how they are understanding regenerative farming, you learn more about how to be an earth conscious consumer especially for meat eaters and of course you start your kids on this path too. Their patience and availability as well as their willingness to share with others the heart/art of caretaking hectares of beautiful land is absolutely marvellous and marveling if there is such a word. Needless to say that we loved our week end here. It feels like a privilege to enter such a beautiful space and get to know you more.
Very nice stay with friends stayed twice now you can get kayaks and explore the lake an the farmer always takes the kids on a farm Vist where they get to help with the farm.Rooms: 4/5
Really enjoyed the week staying here. Living 20 meters from the lakes edge. Guided tour over some of the farm. Did a bush walk. Warm accommodation from the wood burner and heated radiators. Recommend. We will be back in the future. Thx Greig and Rachael
We were on a Bay Tours day trip. Great enthusiasm from Greg and delicious food from the kitchen. Shame about the soggy but much needed rain. I have been a fan of the concept of regenerative farming for many years. Great to see it in practice.
I have now had the honour of staying at the Lodge and touring the "Family Farm" three times and each visit was better than the first. Rachel, Greg and the family are amazing people doing amazing work restoring the bio-diversity of their land. I bow in deep respect and highly recommend a visit.
Great experience with the kids on the guided tour to learn how the farm works, and tasting the delicious sausage sizzle. There is a beautiful lake side lodge for accommodation, and the owners are very friendly and make you feel right at home.
Slice of paradise, fabulous accommodation, relaxed atmosphere. Greg and Rachel go above and beyond to ensure your stay is everything you hoped and more. Mangarara Eco Lodge feeds your heart and soul. Recommend to all
The best most serene place!Rooms: 5/5
