Whenever we visit Whitianga, one cafe always comes to mind: The Espy Cafe. The food is amazing every single time. My wife’s go-to meal is the Calamari Salad, which never fails to hit the spot, and my favourite order is the ESPY Club Sandwich, made to perfection. The fries that come with it are perfectly crunchy, and our plates are always wiped clean.nnThe food shelf options are also top notch, and they even have an ice cream bar which is a big hit with the kids and the kids at heart. They didn’t have a chocolate banana shake on the menu, but when we asked for our 6 year old missy, they went out of their way to make one and satisfy her craving.nnYou can tell the regulars have become friends, which really says a lot about the warmth of the place. To top it all off, the staff are fantastic and the food is delivered quickly. An absolute must visit whenever you’re in Whitianga.
The location is top-notch, and the coffee is great. The food isn't exactly amazing—I'd say it's just okay. But for a small town, it’s actually a solid choice, mostly because you don't have many other options.
Menu is GREAT with affordable options for kids and adults. The staff is lovely and the food came out so quickly even though it was busy. Great spot!!!
We got takeaway, great iced coffees. Cabinet food also looks tasty, large variety. Nice outdoor seating too
We picked this place for breakfast before our boat ride based on reviews and it was totally worth it. The service was pretty quick so we had ample time to stroll around the area. We ordered egg Benedict , lattes and homemade date scones. I’m unable to forget the taste of the coffee and homemade scones. If not breakfast, at least give their homemade scones a shot for a snack.
