Story

The Dinosaur House is not open yet but we are in the process of filling it with models of dinosaurs (some even life-sized), fossils and skeletons.

Our displays will tell the story of these amazing prehistoric animals and the enthralling world that they lived in millions of years ago.

It will be great fun for all ages!

Neat collection of Dinosaur related items to explore in this town. Ticket prices are very reasonable and if you have a large group, ask for a group discount . There are different themed rooms e.g Jurassic Park and the garden out the back has some great photo opportunities and a chance to be creative.
This place is so much fun! Fun and exciting exhibits and heaps of cool information set out in a way that keeps the kids interested. Very cheap gift shop too!! I would definitely recommend this for any child or dinosaur enthusiasts
This place is pretty cool and quirky. Small rooms so not alot of space to move around . No change table for babys . Lots of stuff for kids to try and touch so not one to let kids run around .. This place is definitely one to go visit for a bit of fun
Great little spot for the kids on a rainy day or to get them out of the sun for a bit! Packs a lot in for a small place, highly informative and surprisingly well done.

An unexpected treat on a rainy day. I was blown away by the love, care and attention that had been lavished on every part of this small attraction dedicated to dinosaurs. Our young kids loved the larger than life models in the museum and garden. It felt like we were perfect target demographic. Older kids would get plenty out of digging a bit deeper into the information with each display and interacting with some of the more complex exhibits. The owner was chatty and enthusiastic. The whole place had a really personal and accessible feel. I think our kids were definately inspired and intrigued by what they saw.

What a cool use of an old building. This is so well thought out and set up, great for kids and interesting for adults. Some interesting documentary film footage. They even have some live dinosaur descendants noisy little things! A must visit in this region. And the cafe in Raetihi just down the road is a great spot for refreshment!
What a fabulous little gem of a museum! My young daughter just loved it and was in awe of everything there. We really enjoyed our visit!
