I wanted to visit this venue with my boyfriend on Friday night because he said it was a good place. However, the security guard at the front door didn't want to let us in because he thought we were too drunk. This was far from the truth and was proven by the fact that a few minutes later one of his colleagues let us in finally without any problems. We ordered two beers that we wanted to drink in peace whilst listening to good music. This couldn't happen due to the first doorman showed up. He abused us verbally and physically, shouted at us, was aggressive and incomprehensibly angry. He intentionally poured our drinks on the floor and on us, smashed the glasses. I normally don't write reviews like this and I worked in hospitality too. I don't agree that the customer is always right. But I've never experienced such rudeness. I've never experienced someone abusing their perceived 'power' like this. I've never felt so humiliated in a venue. We were absolutely harmless, didn't hurt or provoke anyone, just wanted to drink our drinks we paid for. We were shocked by this situation and other people around us didn't get this either. It was absolutely unnecessary and unacceptable. We may not have been sympathetic to him for any reason but this can't be an excuse for his horrible behaviour, we were paying guests. I also can imagine he was unwilling to let us in close to closing time 11 PM ish even though we had no intention of sleeping there. We just wanted to spend a pleasant night in a good place and traveled a lot for it. Instead we had awful time there. There's no way I would recommend this place after what happened and I only hope there will be consequences because it says a lot about the management how they handle this. I'd prefer not to give a single star but the site doesn't let me send my review without it. There are way better places in London for those people who love rock and metal music.
That's just a great place to go. Great music, drink experiences which are so different. Try the alien brain
Great bar! The staff were amazing, friendly and fun! Great choices of drinks including rattler in bottles which I was sooo happy about! The jukebox is awesome full of all rock metal and lots of other music! Pool table is good and a nice function room. Not the biggest place but had lots of fun.
Recently had a party at the venue. While I still had a good night and so did the guests, that was mainly because of the cheap drinks. The venue itself looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned , the staff were rude, moody and one of them in particular caused my partner major stress. This member of staff who’s name is Jodie, she was looking for any little thing to shut the party down and didn’t once speak to me about it, but chose to keep asking my partner to ask people to leave for little to nothing. On top of that the staff kept taking food from the tables and were rude to my friends and family when they were trying to be served. Personally wouldn’t recommend booking an event here for a birthday. Staff need training or replacing for customer service as it felt as though we’d inconvenienced them the whole night. The pub itself has a very rock and roll feel and I suspect had we been more rock type people we’d of received a better service.
Lovely vibes here, great clientele. Good bar staff and range of drinks. Definitely worth seeking out for the live music around the back.
It's a bar with this 70s-80s masculine energy and atmosphere. The lager is pretty decent and they air movies on repeat, as well as sports I think. Come down with your friends!
Best place in Kingston, good people, vibes, shows, and atmosphere. Especially if you love rock and roll! Amazing and friendly team. L Go there. Go there now.
Showed up 3 times this week wanting to check it out before I return to Canada.. only to be turned away because I arrived too close to 11. Tonight is especially annoying cuz I’m here 10 min before 11, and still not allowed in. Plenty of ppl are inside enjoying themselves, and I just wanted one night cap. MOSt annoying pub I’ve never been to!
I desperately wanted to hear some metal after work in what I thought was an excellent metal pub given past experiences. I heard a Korn track, but apart from that I only heard hip hop and Foo Fighters. This annoyed me and I joked with a few playing pool about the non-heavy music a traditional complaint among any metalheads in history. Upon leaving I overheard one of the cohort, clearly regulars, say “f*** off” in a stage whisper. I post this to the pub to a bear in mind diehard fans want to hear metal. If you form a rep which you have, people come from afar like I did, and b be careful not to swear at customers. Yours constructively, A Rs.
A vibrant, unique, diverse pub in the centre of Kingston no more than a 10 minute walk from kingston Station, Hosts a wide range of gigs throught the month including a weekly comedy club, monthly rockeoke and pub quiz, There is a jukebox in the pub area where you can add your own songs to the queue, 3 songs for £1 however free songs on Sundays There's a pool table with a pay to play queue system and is free on Sunday aswell, Offers and decent range of drinks including a house lager, house IPA, siren beers and a wide range of rum, whisky, vodka, tequila, gin etc Definitely a welcoming place, usually busiest on weekends unless there's a gig mid week
