I think it's better to go for bigger and sweeter strawberries in December than when I went middle of January. Just personal thoughts. Other than that, love how there is no entry fee and friendly staff.
Very nice place to spend time on a cloudy Saturday morning with your family. Go, empty stomach and fill your tummy with juicy fresh strawberries while you pick. $6 for a kilo and you can also get fresh strawberry ice-cream.
Zaknich is the best farm for PYO in West Auckland. The strawberries are big almost the size of small tomatoes and sweet. Plenty of parking and very friendly personnel. They accept EFTPOS and charge you only for what you pick. No rounding off. And no entry fee. Try the fresh strawberry ice-cream after the pick.
I can't recommend this place enough. Really nice farm with big and delicious strawberries. It is fan place for kinds too, at the end they got really good strawberry ice cream.
