Came up to Palmerston North for the weekend was impressed with most of the places we went to but this place was awesome. The service, food, portions and prices were outstanding. I do not think I have had such a good meal for the price ever. Highly recommend itFood: 5/5
For the same price as fastfood outlets, my daughter and I had an awesome meal. We have been twice now and each time was great. Probably the only thing we were uncomfortable about was having to walk through the many other patrons that were there for other reasons, ie quiz night or just drinks. It would be good if a set meal area was available.
I had a basic chicken schnitzel special. Because it was on the printed specials menu, I thought it must turn over regularly and be nice and fresh. My initial reaction was of disappointment because the schnitzel was overcooked on the edges, the plating was a bit basic and there was no mayonnaise on the chicken like the photo on the menu. However, as I ate into the meat, it was lovely and juicy, just the edges were dry. The person who served us at the bar and took our food order couldn't have been more helpful. Didn't catch his name but he had green dye in his hair. I ordered a very weak shandy to drink because it was very hot and I was the driver. The first drink was great but the second tasted bitter. I wondered if I'd received my sister's order which had more beer but she told me that they had run out of lemonade syrup just prior to my order. I wonder if the syrup didn't come through straight away, not sure how it works. Would eat there again. My sister had the sticky beef ribs, more than she could eat, my cousin had a 500 g steak, perfectly medium rare, so no complaints there. Can't see how to allow my phone to add a photo, sorry.
Great value menu, pretty tasty and generous portions for the price. Bummer you can't change your meal in anyway or add things on. Front staff seem busy and rushed. Over all a pretty great dining experience especially when there's a game on!, and good value for money. Would also recommend trying out the cocktail menu
Had lunch there. Meals okay. Ordered a coffee. Had to ask 3 times to get it. The person that got it for me blamed the staff shortage. BUT he forgot I was watching him fooling around when he could have made it. This guy let the place down.Service: 3/5
No vegan options other than fries but the burgers my brother's got looked decent. Service was okay. Was no sauce or napkins upstairs so had to bring everything up. And food was collected at the par so you had to carry you own food to your table? Bit weird to do the labour yourself. Not bad prices and good drinks available. Food & drinks: No vegan food options other than fries. Disappointing in 2023. Vegetarian options: NONE
Great room prices, mainly because of the superior price charged per night. Competition wise The Cobb Hotel in Palmerston North makes other places feel like needing shelter for a night will end up resulting in what I feel "is daylight robbery".... Otel/Hotel prices need major change and major price cuts.... Food & drinks: The bar onsite is nice, however the quality of the meals are the main reason for only 3 stars today....
Came for a work function and everything was great. Food and drinks are priced well which came out quickly. Quiet sports bar vibe that is family friendly.Service: 4/5
Wow...tourists must have a nice surprise with the food price of this restaurant. Accommodation is only 99 nzd. Unbelievable: Delicious steak 10 nzd at lunch, 11.5 at dinner. Its ambiance is friendly.
Was very disappointed in the service here. Politely asked for a straw for my friend who is disabled and cannot use her hands to pick up a glass. Asked a staff member for a straw explaining the situation and was told they were only used for certain cocktails and then went to another staff member to ask her who then went to another and told me the same thing and was reluctant to give me a straw and then told me i could purchase a paper straw for 50 cents. Did not find staff friendly or approachable
