Are you in Dublin? Then you must experience the Church Cafe. Stunning atmosphere. Great history. Personable staff. Great food selection. We focused in specialty cocktails, seafood appetizers and broad range of dinners. Whether two of you or 15 like us. Totally worthwhile.Food: 5/5
This place’s interior is absolutely beautiful. Food is amazing. From the main dish to the dessert, it keeps getting tastier and beautiful. We were 6 to visit. However, you need to reserve in advance. We struggled to reserve for two consecutive days but eventually were able to book a table after. I would absolutely recommend it if you’re visiting Dublin. The waitress was super open and welcoming. Also, don’t expect it to be calm dining, there is always music and dancing happening on the ground floor. Price wise acceptable, we paid around 50€/person and each person had a drink, main dish and dessert.
Great place! Super lovely atmosphere and they had live music and a duo doing traditional Irish dancing. It was super great to watch while eating and having drinks. Be sure to book in advance as they run out of spots quickly. My partner and I ordered the cod and the strip loin steak and it was super tasty. They also have lots of drink options so be sure to try a couple of their cocktails. However as tasty as the food was, and how good the cocktails and the entertainment was it’s still a bit of a touristy place and therefore it’s over priced accordingly. So if you want to visit come for drinks but the food isn’t a necessity.
An unforgettable experience for sure. Staff was super friendly and helpful! You should book in advance, but if you just show up they'll try to get you a table. Food was delicious! Great atmosphere, the Sunday music/dance make it memorable. A must-try!
We visited here on a Sunday for lunch - we went for a slightly later lunch and had no problem getting a table however don't book at your own risk! The restaurant is in an old church which is very clear from the inside - it has a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. Honestly one of the best fish and chips I've eaten in a while! The staff were also very good and despite being obviously busy they ensured that we were seen to whenever our drinks were running low. Very enjoyable and would visit again.
A definite 'must see' when visiting Dublin. I'd even say it was the highlight. First of all the location is amazing. Very unique. The food I had the special of the day was delicious and the service was very attentive and so kind. We reserved well in advance and had a wonderful view of the whole church. Highly recommend!
Came here with a couple of friends to drink. Beautiful bar with heating and comfortable seating. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Prices are high but the drinks were great. The vibe and atmosphere here was great. Live music and dancing. Definitely recommend.
While it may have looked like a tourist trap from the outside, we were extremely impressed on the inside! We got a table up on the gallery to have the best view of the Irish dancing. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive, chatting us up while we waited for our group. We ordered oysters which came with a delicious sauce, and also had fish and chips. Most of us had Guinness, but one in our party had a cocktail which was good. The dancing is the reason to visit though! They were super talented and fun to watch. The decor is also impressive. Fun, albeit pricey, place to enjoy food, drinks, and dancing.
One of the most interesting dining experiences ever. The restaurant/pub is located inside of an old church. The atmosphere is great, there is live Irish music and dancing Sunday to Thursday. The food is tasty and the service is great. Can truly recommend a visit here if you are in Dublin. If you want to be there for the live music and dances it’s best to book a table in advance as it can get crowded.
Great ambiance and amazing decor. This converted old church building has an iconic bar and just having a drink here and admiring the inside is nice. The food however was so so. The fish and chips was a really small portion and the stew, even though tasty, was served only just lukewarm. Come for a drink and eat somewhere else.
