Story

With new ownership, The Church restaurant in Hahei is about to be given a complete makeover. With renovations underway, a new and exciting menu in progress, you can expect a transformation like no other, with the reopening set for mid September.

The restaurant will be taking on a new identity that still encompasses the core values of Hahei as a relaxed yet progressive, beach side community.

The restaurant will be reborn as The Church Bistro and renovation progress will be shared over the coming weeks.

Lovely setting for this restaurant in an old church in hahei. staff good chef great. Prices $$$$$$ but the tastes and attention to detail are amazing Nice wine selection. Nit lots of choices 4 per course but the tastes were yummy.
Roast night Sunday + spacious dining area but contrast decoration? , friendly staff, Good quality food: crispy fried pork skin was the best!!! - waited a bit long for the meal or we were starving?
Good fine dining experience. A good selection of wines. Loved the beef cheeks entrees and had a perfectly cooked duck for mains. Molten Lava cake was a fine finish to the meal. An overall great dining experience.
The food here is amazing. Just the right amount, enabling me to have 3 courses. The pear entree is a surprise. Decor, atmosphere and staff amazing. Would highly recommend eating here.
The BEST dinner I ever had. The food is incredible; hats off to Chef Gabriel. Anyone coming to Hahei, must place to have dinner.
We dines here on March 11, 2020. We've been in NZ for 5 weeks, dining at top restaurants in the South and North islands. Food and wine are our reason for travel. This was the best meal yet! Great service. Well paced. Friendly host and staff!! Five stars or hats.
