I ordered a Blue Cod and a Fried chicken + chips. So my review is based on these 2 items I ordered. Paid $11.90 for 2 small pieces of blue cod, it was thinly battered and crispy. Nice. The fried chicken is slightly over-fried, but it taste crispy and nice too. The chips are nice. Overall, I recommend this place for fresh and tasty fish & chips.
Had a nice blue eye cod fish, but the chips were a mix of a few hot chips over mostly cold chips as they added a few hot chips to the previously cooked chips that were sitting in the serving tray. Very disappointing when the fish was good, but spoilt by cold chips. Thet are right across the road on lake Wanaka. May try them again but...
Great affordable tasty food. Had the whiting and the corn fritter. Although the corn fritter can do with slightly less seasoning, it provides a nice crunch as a to-go snack. The lady staff served with a welcoming attitude although I went in while they are starting to wash up, and she was friendly throughout our interaction. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area again. Vegetarian options: Vegetable burger Corn fritter Chop suey pattie Pineapple fritter Onion rings Spring roll vegetable Donut
Ordered the cod and regular fish and chips with a side of oysters. The cod tasted good but we found the batter too thick. This holds true for the oysters and regular fish and chips. With the other fried fish a little too fishy for our tastes. Fries were alright but too salty. Overall, it was ok but we were hoping for more.
Very clean and tidy store, I would not recommend the whiting, was quite a small piece and for the price it is a very bland fish, I would go for the Gurnarad next time. It did come with Lemon which was nice to see!
I had the blue cod and chips 10 days ago - best I've had ever! Comes in a small cardboard box. Stayed nice and hot while I rode my bike back home. Thick fish fillet, and more fish than batter. The batter was light and crispy. Fish was piping hot watch out for roof-of-mouth burns!. Would go back for more in a flash! This is how all fish and chips should be :-
Very upset with the food and service. Very over priced. Do not buy any chips and fish bites. The fish bites are so small, a half size of your thumb. Chips are so soggy, almost like you are eating mashed potato that was mashed with water instead of butter. No tomato sauce or any other sauce provided. Fork and knife are $2. Ridiculous!
The chips are amazing, and the chips and the seasoning go together so well would definitely recommend getting loaded chips alongside their fresh fish. Best place in town for food. Go to the Catch!!!
Expensive for Fish and chips. Spent about $45 on me and my partner ordering 2 potato cakes, 1 burger, minimum chips and 3 tenders. Chips were very nice but small portions for the price paid. Burger was $14 for basically a patty and some salad.
great fish and chips. not greasy and perfectly crispyFood: 5/5
