Bed and Breakfast in Cashmere/Christchurch. The Castle has five guest rooms across two floors. Most guest rooms are upstairs with the exception of the Turret Room (the old formal lounge) It is perfect for business trips, couples, families
The Castle Christchurch warmly welcomes you. Built in 1910 “Mock Georgian” style the house offers a retro charme with all modern amenities. Settled neatly in the Port Hills on Dyers Pass Road the Castle offers breathtaking views over the Christchurch valley and the foothills of the Southern Alps.
The property is rather special with a tranquil garden, big outdoor area, a spacious kitchen, three lounges to relax and a large swimming pool.
Both Dale and Leeanne are currently working from home and are transforming the house into a guesthouse and lodge after the devastating 2011 earthquake. Dale is a builder and has been working in the tourism industry while Leanne is working self-employed as a professional Māori Language tutor.
The Castle also sometimes hosts people from the “Helpx” platform that help to achieve our shared goal.
Dale and Leeanne are interested in travelling and camping. They love good books, good food, good wine and most of all: good company. They know New Zealand very well - don’t hesitate to ask for information.
The name “The Castle” is derived from their daughters surprised exclamation that the house looked indeed like a castle.
We hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
