Cashmere club Christchurch I’m not one to say much on reviews, but I have to say TOP JOB from start to finish I had my mother’s 80th birthday party there and people come from oz and up north from the beginning setting up and just being there when I had any questions was great thank you to all the chefs/ cooks doing all the cooking no words can express how I feel but 100 percent top job we wanted food to brought out from time to time not all at once and the chefs come to me and asked me if we wanted it now or wait a bit that was so nice of them to do this and keeping me informed, we also had vegan food that was clearly labelled which was great, Thank you to Kayla who keeps me informed with any questions or concerns I had the communication by email was great and if I could not remember something she could go back on her email thank you Kayla for the hard work and the cook and for the bar staff they were amazing cheerful and very helpful and bubbly people nice work the inside that was nicely painted and outdoors were very nice and clean WOULD RECOMMEND CASHMERE CLUB TO ANYONE SO WITH SAYING THIS IF I COULD GIVE YOU MORE STARS I WOULD 5 out of 5 A fantastic time
I did not want to leave this review here but have contacted the bar and my calls have not been returned. My husband Charles and I are members of the hornby club but frequent both as we reside in between the twonUsually we have a positive experience however our recent weekend visit was not. While ordering our meal and beverages we were subjected to a cat coming in and out of the bar area also walked into dining area, a staff member patted the cat and then served our beverages without washing hands. We were subjected to children in and out of the gaming area, not to mention a less than positive conversation about the kitchen staff or chef leaving, which is concerning because with all the above factors the food was the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. The staff are always friendly and lovely in both areas i must add unfortunately this experience was just not great.
We recently visited the Cashmere Club with four families, including young children, to celebrate our late fathers — both proud, long-time members of the club. Sadly, what should have been a meaningful and sentimental gathering turned into a deeply disappointing experience. Despite the club’s supposed aim of being family-friendly and welcoming to younger generations, we were made to feel most unwelcome by both staff and regular patrons. Complaints were made about the presence and noise of young children — who were celebrating their grandparents — and we were directly told that the regulars had an issue with us being there.nnThis attitude was hurtful, especially for our mothers, who had hoped to feel a sense of connection and belonging at a place that meant so much to their late husbands. Despite spending a considerable amount, we left feeling excluded and disheartened. It’s a real shame — the club’s resistance to change and inclusion may well be contributing to its financial struggles. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
Recently hosted a bingo night there for a crowd of about 100, and had the best experience! The staff were friendly and helpful, from the initial enquiry right through the event and afterwards. The room we held the event at was warm and comfortable, with great lighting and seating options, as well as a PA, screens and microphone ready to use. The bar staff are efficient with serving a great variety of food and drinks at good prices.nI'm now trying to find excuses to organise more events, just because it was so easy and fun!
My father used to take me to the Cashmere Club when I was small and later for a jug and a catch up. I learned to play pool there. I always found the staff to lovely, calling me and dad by name.nNow when I return from Canada to visit, we always have drinks and a meal there and have found the hospitality and service to still be awesome.nDad was fond of the smoking area in the garden. I just like the garden!
