The pies are absolutely delicious! The texture of the pies is just right - not too thick and perfectly crispy. The pies have lots of filling so that every bite feels hearty. My personal favorite was the pork belly.nnThis place is a must-go for anyone visiting or passing by Blenheim.
I am just lining up with everyone else's opinion and my wife's that it is the best pies they have ever tasted anywhere in the world! No doubt about it. All pies cost $8.50. We had the Jamaican Lamb curry and the Steak, mushroom and truffle cheese pies. The crust is flaky and just the right thickness keeping all the ingredients in perfectly.nnThe first mouthful and the crunchy sensation is suddenly overcome but a burst of flavour of the filling, both of which I have never encountered.... sort of the third kind other worldly if you get what I mean. The lamb and the beef were succently and melts in the mouth.nnThe only thing is that the shop is not open on Sunday. We would have loved to purchase some frozen pies to take it back home on Sunday with our flight but where we are staying do not have a freezer!nnThe next time we return, it will be pies for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Unreal!! The steak and blue cheese is my go to, and the other day I thought I'd try the pork belly for something different. Probably the best pie I've had in my life. It was unreal. Blenheim is very lucky to have this place. Unfortunately the one time I ordered a coffee from here it was absolutely scolding, so I will be sticking to pies only.
These pies are insane. Plenty of parking and service is friendly and efficient.nnNone of the pies need sauce I'm an Aussie and I sauce all my pies, but didn't here and they don't fall apart. The pastry is the right mix of flaky and crunchy.nnI loved the steak, mushroom and truffle pie the most, you can actually taste the truffle and it is such a smooth pie.nnThe pork belly pie was powerful and so unique, I am glad we shared as it has a strong flavour palate. Highly recommended.nnThe steak and blue cheese pie is a little salty, but bursting with flavour, I loved this pie.
I'm a Kiwi and really love my pies. I've been travelling through the south island trying them on this trip and there is no contest that Burleigh Gourmet Pies are the best.nnI had the steak mushroom and truffle and it was phenomenonal, I also had the steak and pepper and the pepper was so strong and tasty. This place beats Fairlie Bakery and is up there with the best pies I've ever eaten. An institution that should not be missed
