Good place for beers! It's a typical Irish pub, they have the Guiness and the Kilkenny on tap. Lots of ex-pats stop in so you can find some interesting people here. Being Canadian I always see other Canadians which makes me feel at home.Food: 3/5
Great food. Awesome main with beer for 30 bucks. Irish band playing on stage were soo good and there were about 10 of them. Most importantly, the music wasn’t too loud like most pubs I’ve been to. Will be back. Prob tomorrow
Great bar to meet eat dwink and go for a 2 hour blat around the StripFood: 5/5
Fantastic St Patrick's day breakfast. The atmosphere along with the great live entertainment and generous proportions of yummy food for breakfast made for an amazing start to the day. Legends!Food: 5/5
Nice ambience and beer selection. Great place for some pub food and live music or drinks with friends
Going to the bog was a fairly spontaneous decision made because we wanted to try something new and it was a great decision! We were made welcome and shown to our table promptly. They had a great atmosphere, it had a very fun, vibrant pub feel. The music was good and upbeat but a little on the loud side so don't go in expecting a quiet dining experience. They have a beautiful interior and it was very clean and had a very warm welcoming vibe. The bathrooms were also very nice and clean. The staff were some of the best I have had the pleasure of being served by. They were pleasant and polite, they were very quick to remove used dishes and always nearby to assist us with any queries or requests and knew all of the specials without hesitation. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and was reasonably priced. We ordered Garlic bread which had some of the creamiest, lightest and most amazing garlic butter I have ever had. The chicken noodle soup was cooked to perfection with all of the veggies being just right and the broth was amazing, i could have just had the soup broth for my meal and would still have been very satisfied. I ordered the chicken schnitzel which was moist and delicious, my only issue with it was there not being enough mushroom sauce but that's mostly because it was so delicious. My partner ordered one of the steak dishes which was a fair bit tougher than it should have been but it wasn't bad enough to ruin the meal. Overall a fantastic experience and we will have to go back again because i feel like i need to try everything on the menu.
An excellent spot with great service and good Guinness. The food is basic but good quality and the portions are generous. Don't mess about, just go here.Food: 5/5
Great decision, came here as walking past, great live music, the food was really good, and bar staff were awesome, great cocktails! Not bad for a pub! Pretty impressed really..
Best Guinness in town. Great live music. Super friendly staff.
I have a dietary requirement which the staff worked out without me being too specific and catered accordingly. Food comes out in good time and served hot. The serving size is beyond expectations and incredibly generous considering the pricing. Great value and quality. I've now been here three times with consistent results. The Bog is now my priority of restaurants in Christchurch over any other. Thank you.
