We had the most amazing time! Our host "I" was incredibly knowledgeable and was happy to answer the dozens of questions we had for him. He had a great sense of humor and you could tell that the animals loved him. The alpacas were friendly and there were lots of them! We has a 10 day old alpaca on our tour who wanted to nuzzle our clothing, it was delightful! So many great picture opportunities. Great family tour, and well worth the money!
Really good experience. My family were really enjoying this Alpaca experience. You will have chance to really close up and touching the Alpaca. Check out their gift shop as well, they have plenty choices for you. The quality were really good. I will come again during my future visit.
Had an enjoyable time at the farm, petting, feeding and learning about the Alpaccas! 'I', our tour guide yup, his name is a single letter 'I' was amazing! Friendly guy and he is passionate about his job raising the alpacas and talking about them to us. He happily answered any questions we had about the animals. Give this guy a raise! As an added bonus, the cookies they provided at the end of the tour was really tasty! wish I could have more!
My partner and I had a great time at Shamarra Alpacas! A very wholesome and educational experience with lots of cuddles, cuteness and a wonderful view! Also the tour guide was really outstanding as he made everything super fun. Totally recommend to everyone and will be returning
Such a great experience, a fantastic way to end my family’s 2 week South Island trip. There were so many alpacas! Our guide Lydia was patient and knowledgeable, she knew the alpacas by name! She answered all our questions and taught us how to touch these beautiful animals. We were able to cuddle the alpacas, meet the mums and babies too. Most entertaining part was feeding them. We appreciate the tour so much Lydia, thank you! :
The experience with the cute little alpacas was soooo great!!! We spent a lot of time petting those cutest alpacas and had a calm and happiness memories with the adorable creatures. By the way the tour guide , Lydia was so nice and knowledgeable. Really enjoyed this trip!!!
We had such a great experience! The alpacas are so adorable, the staff is so friendly, and we got to spend plenty of time cuddling, feeding, observing and taking pictures of/with the alpacas. We were traveling around New Zealand from the US and loved this stop - had so much fun.
Beautiful farm with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The staff is super patient and friendly, and explained to us the name, age, and personality of every alpaca we met. We had a wonderful day playing with the animals and learning about alpacas! Will definitely recommend!
The alpaca is a species of South American camelid mammal. It is similar to, and often confused with, the llama. However, alpacas are often noticeably smaller than llamas. Visit the Shamarra Alpacas farm for amazing alpacas petting experience..! Love those animals they are really loveable animals..!
Firstly just have to say the location itself is just stunning, gorgeous. We were taken on tour by Frank, one of the owners and Charlie the hound who I absolutely fell in love with. As for the Alpacas they were just beautiful, such gentle creatures living the best life on this farm. Frank’s tour was very interesting and he was happy to answer lots of questions - Thankyou so much Frank and Charlie it was wonderful to meet you!
