About

The Thames Society of Arts founded in 1974 provides an arts centre for the wider community of Thames.

Story

The Thames Society of Arts founded in 1974 provides an arts centre for the wider community of Thames. We are located in the historic Old North School, Tararu Road, the main coastal road north and 3km from Thames central.

Our Constitution is to provide for the encouragement of Fine and Applied Art and this means there are no boundaries as to what our members can exhibit. From brush to chisel we offer wonderful displays of Painting, Pottery, Sculpture, Fibre, Wood, Ceramics, Jewellery...etc, all demonstrating the creativity of our community.

We have several exhibitions through the year often with an interesting theme and the Gallery is curated to give a fresh look for repeat visitors. All exhibits are for sale and Visa and EFTPOS facilities are available.

Gorgeous pottery! Great place to buy gifts
Excellent, I wasn't actually at the Arts Society but at Thames Music & Drama - auditioning for a new production. But the Arts Society Gallery is well worth a visit, a great collection of art from real people.
