We just had a wonderful experience visiting this lovely historic Gold mine. It was very informative about the history of gold mining in New Zealand. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable made a good experience.
It was an hour well spent at the gold mine. I am really impressed how well it’s preserved.nThe tour guides were super knowledgeable and really friendly! I learnt so much about the mine and Thames. I’d recommend anyone who has an interest in NZ history to visit. For kids, it’s more suitable for age 10 and above.
The amazing Alan took us for a wonderful tour around the mine, telling us everything about it in about 45 minutes in total after which we spent another half an hour walking around using the provided map. Great stop on the way to Coromandel. Alan had several different groups and he managed them perfectly!
We had a really informative tour and education by Captain Susanna & Tenelle. The tour is really interactive with visits inside the mine to 2 different levels the an explanation followed by a live demonstration of the equipment used to crush and extract the gold .nCannot recommend highly enough the visit.
Got to learn about the mining that used to happen here. The guides have excellent knowledge and explained in a concise manner. Glad to see the heritage being kept
