Celebrated a birthday here in a Friday night. Place was very popular with the takeaways offered and once dinner arrived I knew why. I ordered the Lonely Duck with jasmine rice. The duck was cooked perfectly, the sauce was tasty. The staff were very attentive and service was timely without feeling rushed. The BYO option suited us for a birthday celebration only charging $10 corkage.
im being to thai orewa restaurant for more than 10years. Always amazing foods, so yummy! I highly recommend Stir Fried Basil Beef or Chicken or Squid. All recommend. First time ate real thai beef salad. Wow amazing busy night on weekend so better to book table! Lunch is more reasonable price because cheaper and rice is free
Great meal had here and worth the drive from Auckland. Entrees ordered curry puffs I loved as like a Cornish pasties pastry also we ordered spring rolls. Mains hubby and I both ordered Pad Thai his chicken, mine king prawn very generous with prawns I counted 8. Service was stretched as extremely busy, but worth the drive.
We were a family of 8 people. There was tasty food, and delivered in a timely manner. The waiting staff were young and very good. However, the food was incredibly pricey - $25 -$38 for small - average sized mains with very small cup sized bowls of rice. In fact almost all the mains ranged between $33. - $38. The Pad Thai was way, way overpriced at $27.00, when you consider that its mainly a helping of noodles! Not great value for money. Kid-friendliness: A good family restaurant Parking: Street parking
Really enjoyed our meal tonight at Thai Orewa. Great flavors, good size portions and well presented. Would highly recommend everything we had: prawn bread appetizer, pork panang curry, larb kai chicken salad —this one definitely had a kick , and fried banana dessert. Yum! Spacious indoor dining room and a few tables outside. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will visit again next time we stay in Red Beach.
A nice man named Amorino served me! He was very respectful and even served us pad thai on the house. Me and my hubby Karl were very pleased with this experience and would definitely come back again! I recommend this restaurant to everyone, very amazing!
We ordered takeaway from time to time, and tonight my hubby went to take away at their restaurant. They charged us 2x rice, but end up only giving us one. And this wasn't the first time. So I called and told the receptionist what happened, and he shifted the blame and said 'its the kitchen whom made a mistake not me.' Well, I said I can't go into the kitchen and tell them off right? He answered me 'yes, but I just wanna let you know.' I told him this was not the only time, they should check the order before sending out the foods. This is just not good enough. He did offer a free rice next time. The point is getting a free rice which we had paid for already next time doesn't makeup the fact that we have two main dishes but only one rice to share between the whole family tonight!!! So when I told him that I hope next time this will not happen again as they should improve their service, or I will leave a bad review on Google. He answered me: 'it's up to you!' It's like he didn't give a shxt! They are popular in the community which is a good thing, but the way that they dealt with a customer complaint and their customer service during busy hours are awful, at least to our experience. Certainly not going back for the 'free' rice next time.
Tom Yum Goong . Terrible if you like western tounge go this place because it's far from authentic. I understand the difficulties getting long leaf coriander tomatoes shallots garlic galangal Tom yum chili paste and straw mushroom. But you say the dish has a 3 chilli rating Not.
The food was ok Ok for me. Fish is not fresh not worth $30 with frozen Snapper. Too expensive compared to another Thai restaurant because is actually lacking of quality of food The service sucks. Some of the Staff have the wrong attitude Thai skinny girl with glasses at reception need more training and more professional service in this restaurant. Not going back there again and will tell my friends not to go there
