Hands down best BBQ feed in NZ!!! Guys in the food truck kill it every time. I reckon great price for a mean quality feed that leaves you feeling full as a bull! Will definitely be visiting again. 10/10 recommend
Best place for some amazing food !!nFirst time visiting, will definatly be back, worth the trip to Hamilton to visit !nThe guy at the counter was so kind and welcoming, gave us a little run down of the menu and how things are smoked, very interesting. So nice visiting a place that has someone lovely and chatty, big thumbs up from my partner and I .nThen the food !! My god, it's the best thing I've ever eaten. We ordered the meat platter, which no complaints, everything was spot on, exceeded our expectations, we loved everything so much we ordered the loaded fries ! I'm going to be dreaming of this place till I can visit again. Everything was fantastic !nEnvironment is chill and calm which is nice, music is nice and quiet so you don't have to yell at each other across the table. Love the vibe this place has.nVery well priced for the items on the menu.nThank you for an amazing experience
Went in with a group of friends and Larissa served us at the counter, she was amazing! Thanks Larissa. Food was absolutely divine, Also the shakes, they are absolutely amazing.
You pull up to this nice joint in a really nice and developing neighborhood, the atmosphere is gorgeous, the decorations on the wall invoke a feel of comfort and is as tasteful as the food. The service is spectacular, you'll speak to staff which is both efficient and helpful in deciding the options, they will suggest some food and you'd be a fool not to go with it because you might find something new you'll like. The food tastes good but whoever provides their pork for crispy pork belly needs a bit of work because the meat of the pork is quite dry and a couple pieces of them may not always have the fat to juice it up a bit. Overall its a wonderful place to eat and is a big lure for people wanting to live in Rototuna from discussions ive had with other patrons I did spend a lot but you can get quality food for as low as 36 dollars which when considering the high quality of food is a bargain.
Food is solid; not the greatest BBQ, but good - those reviews raving about it have clearly never had 5-star BBQ. Prices are on the high side, burgers and ribs are OK, and I used to visit 2-3p/m, in small part due to the fountain Coke - though there is only one cup size and it’s never enough, especially for the price. That was until the one time I was given a glass Coke bottle just before visiting Texas Pete’s Rototuna, and brought it in with me - to drink, yes, but probably once finished; after all, it was an outside drink and I’m aware/conscious of that. I ordered my food, this time chicken wings & soft tacos, sat down inside, then was politely but firmly told by the manager to take me and my glass Coke bottle and sit outside, because I had the audacity to bring an unopened Coke bottle into the store.nIf it had been Pepsi, I’d somewhat understand, or something offensive or even opened, but to take such offense at a customer who dared to bring in an outside drink, yet still spend $30, and be told to sit outside is baffling. I solved the major crisis by putting my unopened bottle in the car, returning and drinking water - resisting the urge to buy a fountain Coke through petty protest. Clearly the business is going fantastic to be able to tell customers to get outside, and good luck to them, but to be so confrontational and offensive to a customer who - by chance and for the first time in 3 years of visiting - brought a Coke into a casual establishment that also sells Cokes and rather expensive ones at that, my refusal to return should have no effect on them whatsoever. This happened a while ago, and given economic struggles I’ve been reluctant to post this, but I haven’t been back, and nor do I intend to. Go to Sweet N Sassy Smokehouse food truck instead, the food is just as good/better and they’re not rude to customers.
