I would 6 star this place if I could! The location and venue are amazing, but the staff and service take it up to the next level. The people here are incredible! Knowledgeable, and helpful - they make Craggy Range! I took the wine tasting and the lady Maddie was incredible, so passionate about wine and shared that enthusiasm, a very educational and informative session. Then we had dinner and the dishes we delightful; creative and full of flavour - we went with the wine matched set menu and I would highly recommend this option. You get to try and learn about so many more of their wines and the local dishes and sourced ingredients. Take a taxi. Enjoy the wine and food. Or better yet, try the on site accommodation.
Absolutely amazing! The food was to die for, some of the best we’ve ever had!! The wine and drinks were great, the atmosphere, views and location were spectacular. All of the staff we encountered were exceptional and Rebecca who looked after us for the evening was amazing, accommodating, welcoming and a credit to Craggy Range, thank you for making our experience there a good one.
11 out of 10. We were lucky enough to score seats overlooking the kitchen. It was interesting watching all the activity in the kitchen working like clockwork. Not a ‘Gordon Ramsay’ moment to be seen . We both had the fish. It was superb. Had to have the chocolate mousse and matching wine for dessert too, after watching the desserts being assembled in the kitchen.
The chefs tasting set menu was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Amazing flavours and such a fun surprise waiting for the next plate. The waiters recommended great wines to go with the food. The restaurant is beautiful with great views of the surrounding scenery. Will definitely visit again the next time we are in Hawkes Bay!!
Would recommend for the a la Carte, but not the Degustation Summer Menu or Chefs Bar… Staff were very friendly and accommodating… The terrace is lovely but it’s easy to be forgotten about out there…. Food was enjoyable and would definitely return…. But would sit in the main restaurant in comfy chairs not on the Chefs Bar Stools…..
The lunch we had was a week day three course business lunch. It was so tasty fresh and interesting in both the flavours and textures of all the dishes we shared.Food: 5/5
Eating at Craggy Range was a very pleasant surprise. Fantastic food with great flavours. Excellent experience and delicious food for a slightly higher but very reasonable price.
Amazing place to eat. We were lucky enough to be seated at the kitchen window and watching the food being prepared.
Such a lovely meal. Each course was absolutely delicious and top quality, one of the best meals I've ever had. Special thanks to Charlotte who kept us well entertained and laughing all night, and even went the extra mile to get the exact recipe of the lovely seasonal spritz cocktail we had we had to get another as it was so delightful and drawing a bow on our takeaway box for our chocolate truffles after my wife jokingly asked if it came with a bow. A very pleasant evening to spend our honeymoon.
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. The chef's tasting menu is absolutely the way to go - you get to taste almost the whole menu at a very reasonable price. No bite was anything less than spectacular. The pan fried fish and the lamb shoulder were standouts. All in a beautiful restaurant on the Craggy Range grounds. I recommend the Chef's Counter seats if you can get them. Highly recommend!
