Kapiti’s best kept secret is out!!! Come on be tempted!

From humble beginnings at a Kapiti Coast market to world domination. Okay not exactly, but our customers have made us what we are today. Word of mouth and recommendations from our clients have seen our company grow from a ‘bit of pocket money’ hobby to our now 5 day a week operation.

So what do we offer? We have mastered the art of the good ole kiwi pie and sausage roll. Added to this, a range of cakes, slices deserts and other pastry items. We are always looking for ways to improve and add to our range.

We are based in Otaki slap bang in the middle of both Wellington and Palmerston North. Our position means we can deliver our delectable goodies while they are at their best. Fresh out of the oven in most cases.

Temptations Patisserie is a small and personal business. Our aim is to cater for our customers ’individual needs while working alongside you , ensuring our products bring out the best in your business.

The red velvet I just picked up is extremely dry. So dry, that when I rake it with a fork it won't fall apart. The layers are also much smaller than usual. This is very disappointing as this bakery usually has the best red velvet but even the texture isn't quality anymore. I purchased two slices for celebratory reasons and ended up having to throw it out. The cake doesn’t taste fresh at all. Try another bakery if you can.

Purchased a red velvet cake for Thanksgiving and it was VERY DRY . The cake did not even have a red velvet flavor . Very disappointing . Nothing like the red velvet cake from a year ago . Will not be purchasing from Sweet Temptation’s ever again .
The most dense red velvet cake I have ever had. I had ordered a cake for 4th of July. A red, white and Blue velvet cake. First, the customer service is horrendous. The workers are rude and have this air to them like they don't want to be there. Like ordering a cake is too much trouble. The cake I ordered...It was so dense, you could barely put a fork through it. It had no taste.. This isn't the same sweet temptations. There isn't any love or real passion put into their cakes since they change ownership. It's a shame. People are buying the cakes based on the name but it isn't the same. There are other bakeries to go to and support. This isn't one of them. I wish them well.
Purchased a lemon pound cake and after cutting and tasting cake it seemed to be overcooked and dry I called to speak with a manager but was advised no one was available to take my call. I then explained to the receptionist my issue and all she said was no refunds it's not about the refund it's about making it right for the customer. Not good customer service at all.
Bought 2 pieces of strawberry cake today, and they were VERY DRY. It tastes like dried out box cake. The frosting was awful as well. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Hands down the best bakery I have been to in town thus far! They were super helpful and although my order was very last minute, they delivered for me! The cakes were moist, delicious, and most of all NO FONDANT! They even pre-cut the sheet cake for me. Everyone loved them!
I had the WORST EXPERIENCE with them during the most joy-able moment of my life. I went to them for my baby shower cake and specifically asked before placing my order if they design fondant cakes. I was given a price $150 and like anyone else, I began to shop around with other local bakeries to see which would best fit my budget. Well after finding out most of the bakeries were charging $150 and up for fondant cake, I went back to Sweet Temptations to place my order with them after hearing how delicious their cakes were. When I went back to place the order, I sent out a picture of the cake design I wanted via email and provided my colors and other request I wanted done to the cake. After signing the contract, I was told a different price from before $160, ok $10 difference wasn't a biggie. The pick up day came and I was extremely excited to see my cake. When I arrived, I was presented a cake that was made with regular icing as appose to the fondant icing I requested. The manager and employee made it as if I didn't know what I wanted when I placed the order and that they were not told it was to be made out of fondant, and stated that a fondant cake would have been close to $200. Now, the cake I previously sent to their email address was made out of fondant. I told them when I ordered, I wanted my cake to look exactly like the picture minus the color and stripe pattern that the picture displayed. I was EXTREMELY upset at this point. How does a customer not know what they want? And for it to be a special day for me, of course I would know how I would like everything to be. After a long debate about the cake, I was given back $40. Seriously, $40, after paying for a $160 cake I did not ask for. I will not recommend them to anyone for any special cake orders.
I purchased a cake for my sister’s birthday which I picked up on this past Saturday 12/11/21. We ate the some of the cake Sunday which was very dry and not moist like it used to be with the old owners. The cake was horrible. I called the store to report the issue and the lady was dry like the cake was, as if she could careless. She said no refunds or remakes unless you pay. She said management does not come in unless there is an issue and I told her it’s an issue. She repeated their policy about refunds/remakes. She would not give me her name she just held the phone. Needless to say they will not get my business ever again. I advise everyone else to go somewhere else and get a good cake!!
We buy birthday cakes 6 times a year!! Something is very different about the cake!!! The layer is much thicker and taste much better. I won’t buy another cake! The kids didn’t even like it!!! I want a refund!!!
