This chicken sandwich was beyond delicious. Super fresh, overstuffed with goodies. Fantastic coffee as well. It's a great place to stop, being on SH1 with loads of off-street parking.
I have been coming here since a child with my mum and dad, they always got a pot of tea for two. Me and my darlings had a sunny spot inside to eat our meals, there is plentyof seats outside too, with shelter. Well done to the 2 staff members on, one minute there were only the 2 of us dining in and then several others started to arrive it got busy fast.
The woman that served me was rather unpleasant. Hannah was amazing filling my iced coffee request to a high standard. I paid for my order n only received half not very happy with that. Had my family with me they got treated well but the lady that served us was glaring at me. Not sure if I had note on my back she certainly made me feel un welcome. If I treated my customers like that I certainly wouldn't have a job
We had the whitebait patties as a dine in lunch. Just lovely service and quality food. Extra jug of hot water with our teas, just like we used to get in the old days!
Called on our way to Dunedin. Ordered bacon burger, a steak pie, and 2 coffees.nThe burger came with mayo & tom sauce already on. As i don't like either i would preffered the option not to have it There was nothing in the board i could see that said anything about this. I was really disappointed. The burger was hard & rubbery. The coffees were nice.nI wouldn't return, called in as we have a Village Teapot in our village in the UK. Maybe aiming my standards to high.
