Te Whenua Law is lead by Tania Te Whenua (Tūhoe, Whakatōhea). Prior to establishing Te Whenua Law, Tania practiced at Holland Beckett Lawyers, Potts & Hodgson Barristers and Solicitors and Aurere Law as a general practice solicitor specialsing in property & commercial matters with particular expertise in Maori asset management and development, and Waitangi Tribunal matters. Tania also co-wrote a bi-lingual Māori mediation programme for the Peace Foundation Aotearoa and has run a successful consultancy working within the public, community and private sectors to educate organisations and their staff on the Treaty of Waitangi and cultural competency.
