Absolutely stunning place. Very well maintained. Tranquil natural, in fact, the whole place takes your breath away. It's really gorgeous. Nice walk through bush with great paths. Well, sign posted and a nicevdurprise when you come to the spring.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great loop walking track. Track is fine gravel well compacted, with walkways over some areas, all is well maintained. Track takes you close by the Spring which is remarkable. Read the notice boards before starting, we didn't and found we had missed the old gold mining diggings, had to go back. Parking is well laid out, toilets clean and tidy.
A lovely spot. Stunningly clear water. The walking loop is relatively short at about 1km, with the path a combination of gravel and wooden walkway. Elevation change is no more than about 10-15 metres. It could be managed with a stroller, or perhaps even a person with some degree of mobility impairment. Parking is easy, in a paved car park, and toilets are available.
This hidden beauty and rare gem is a must see if you ever travel the top of the South Island. The water is so crystal clear it is easy to see why this is considered sacred and a national treasure. An easy walk through Bush along a well maintained track and walkway will bring you to this magnificent visual experience.
Outrageously beautiful! It’s amazing that such pristine piece of nature that is so easily accessible hasn’t been destroyed by human touch yet There is a loop trail you can take to the springs, that has a small observation deck We stayed for some time taking photos of the ducks and the piwakawaka as they put on a show for us, dancing along the top of the water Remember this is sacred water, and it is forbidden to touch it
Quite underwhelming. You can say they made a loop track longer than needed just to make tourists spending more time around here, as the attraction itself is quite underwhelming and people stay at the deck just a couple of minutes. It seems there was an underwater viewing place before, which may have made the experience worth it, but now it's gone. Being here now, doesn't really give you more than just looking at some pictures online. Not recommended
This free loop just takes around half an hour of flat path. The water is incredibly clear, this is a good spot for nice shooting. You can park but there are no accommodations to eat Takaka is the closest place to get food.
Better check the weather if you want to see crystal clear water. It's worth driving a long way up here. Absolutely love it!Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNo
Beautiful place. Visited on a rainy day... actually made the surroundings more stunning. Fantails skimming along surface of the springs was pretty spectacular.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Natural Springs to check out if in the area. Ample parking and the walk is easy going and takes around 30 mins return. We came on a cloudy day, so colours were not as vibrant. It was still amazing to see the underground spring bubbling to the surface. Polarised sunglasses help with the underwater viewing
