Public Conditions of Use
Those who participate in communicating with HDC through its social media channels are asked to be respectful of each other, Officers and Elected Members.

All users should be aware that Council Officers monitor all social media activity associated with HDC. As social media is a 24 hours a day/seven days a week medium, the monitoring period will vary.
The Officers responsible have the authority to make a judgement call regarding inappropriate commentary.

HDC has three categories regarding inappropriate commentary and they are:
I. Minor – general name calling
II. Major – unacceptable language, inappropriate imagery
III. Extreme – threatening or explicit commentary and/or images

What happens in the event of:
1. Noncompliance:
a. Minor: The post/comment being made so it is only viewable by friends of the person who posted the comment.

b. Major: The post being deleted from the page. In this instance a Council Officer will direct message the person to advise:
- The post has been deleted in accordance with Council’s Social Media Policy
- That a condition of use of Council’s social media platforms is that they are respectful for each other, Officers and Elected Members
- That a further breach of Council’s policy may lead them being banned from the social media channel.

c. Extreme:
- A direct message is sent to the person who made the post advising they will be banned from the page following which they are banned. This option is reserved for the most serious breaches of the Social Media Policy, and is for a period of no less than three years.

2. Repeated breaches:
a. Minor: In the event of three or more Minor breaches by the same person within a period of 12 months then, for a period of no less than one year, all future Minor breaches by that person will be treated as Major breaches and a Direct Message will be sent to that person advising them of this.

b. Major: In the event of a second Major breach by the same person then the author will be sent a Direct Message advising that due to a second Major breach of Council’s Social Media Policy they will be banned for a period of no less than one year.

c. Extreme: If, a person has been banned from a social media page and that ban is lifted yet they subsequently commit an Extreme breach then the breach will be treated in accordance with 1.c. above with the exception that the ban will be for a period of no less than five years.

Council’s Communication Lead will keep a record of non-compliance and bans and bans will be lifted after the specific time-frame.
Horowhenua District Council reserves the right to refer all posts to the appropriate authority/ies including, but not limited to, the New Zealand Police, the Race Relations Commissioner and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Great library, 1 of the best libraries we've ever belonged to. Good selection of books. Well run with good security for peace of mind.
Awesome place relaxing and vibrant energy staff are welcoming and gives you a sense of humour and belonging
It's an excellent place where you can just chill out with a book or use the computers or bring in your own and use the free WiFi. There is a cafe with a great selection of food that you can sit down with a coffee. There is a AA so that you can book ferry, flights, register your car, go for your licence. It's a fabulous place for everyone of all ages.
This is a great little gem of a place. It has a library, AA, business centre, cafe, and there's free parking if you want to explore all that Levin has to offer. The only downside is the number of young people who seem to have made it their mission to be aggressive, and play disturbing and rude music loudly just outside. This is apparently outside the jurisdiction of the Te Takere security guards.
Great hub of Levin, many groups and clibs run out of here. Great archives and a youth space. Special guests and performances. Very helpful staff. Travel agent, AA and a cafe all on premises.
Probably one of the best examples of Library and Community Centre that you could find anywhere. Heaps of facilities, access to the internet, a combined Historical and Family History research section. There are also meeting rooms available for high, a superb display area for arts, flowers and other activities. Free Friday linch time music concerts as well as a dedicated Youth Space complete with a fully equipped sound studio.
Colloquially known as simply Te Takere, the library in Levin expanded some time ago to become a community hub of sorts. Sporting meeting and recording rooms as well as a youth centre, the place caters well to a variety of needs. There are computers here that can be used by the public and art, both local and international, can be found on display in the centre of the building. Unfortunately, the cafe has since stopped operating and therefore your coffee needs are either met with making your own or visiting one of the nearby cafes. Tl;dr - It's a library. Has art. Worth a visit if you like those things
This is Levin's Library, what a great place, it has cafe together with free wi-fi for your own devices and computers to use if you haven't one. Exhibitions are the norm as well as musical events during the day and from time to time in the evenings.
Great, welcoming space. More than just a library
Great place location and they try to keep up to date. Good place for varies things other than books. I rate this 2 stars because I am NOT happy how I Lost 2 hours of work forms and paper work. I asked for help and was just told I didn't release my work after I explained I did. On top of that she didn't help me in any other way to getting my work back or how to prevent it for next time I was clearly upset as this may had something time do with changing my card to the new 1 after putting money on it to print and before printing anythung but nothing. Not happy. P.s. been here almost 2 years had plenty of issues with computers and printes.
