I'm a larger female, I haven't been in a pool for about 15 years. The minute I got to the pool I felt relaxed and no one was staring at me. It's a beautiful pool, light and spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a therapy pool, the main pool, baby pool and more.
Had a 6year old birthday party there, clean & tidy with plenty of life guards on watch to make us feel safe.
NO SAUNA or STEAM ROOMnGreat pools, friendly staff but whats the point to build all of this and have no wellness space, no sauna or steam room, not even an infrared sauna. Could be a premium 5 star facility if they have the foresight to keep up with the times and create a stronger focus on health and wellbeing. Disappointing that Dunedin council are lagging behind all other main centres by about 20 years. Almost every pool in Auckland and other main centres has a sauna and a steam room as a normal practice. Even Invercargill has one ! Dunedin, as usual miles behind. UPDATE ! Spa pool also closed now after the tile repair job they started AT THE BEGINNING OF WINTER !! went wrong. Now they say it’s closed for 6 months - the incompetence and disorganisation of DCC amazes me. Meanwhile rates keep going up !
Beware of this pool... it has a fungal growth in the water due a lack of hygiene measures by staff.... 10 weeks now ive had an ongoing fungal ear issue due to this swimming pool, more so the therapy and spa pools. And regardless of my ongoing complaints and evidence from gp with swabs, no one wants to be held accountable! Absolutely disgusted in the staff and the pool
Great staff! The pool is quite small but the change facilities amd tog driers are great for families.
