One of my favorite bridges anywhere. Whangarei could have just put up a standard concrete bridge, instead we have a kinetic art work, that welcomes visitors to city by road or sea, changing throughout the day, with access over, under and around to enjoy from every angle. It is also a good place to start your trip around the Loop with good parking, toilets, coffee, sculpture, gardens and beautiful places to sit.
A very beautiful bridge in the shape of a Maori fish hook. Technically sublime because this bridge opens on a special way, he rolls open. The bridge is very nice to see from Mount Parihaka. If you ask the bridge attendant polite, he will be pleased to show you the control room. The bridge is operated by a number of enthusiastic people.
This is a lovely walk around Te Matau A Pohe. Beautiful surroundings and relaxing. While you can use this as an exercise and nice for kids. Nice playgrounds.nSarah Brink
Such a beautiful area. The one big disappointment each time I come, is the state of the public toilets. Someone needs a good shake up. These are not being properly cleaned Mon to Friday and there should be someone checking it Sat and Sun re repairs.. No paper wkends
One of the many jewels in the north. it's always a pleasure to have such a diverse place to live there is so much to do and see
