TeKawau Swimming Club is run by local parents for the children in the Tekawau region it is based at the Rongotea Community Swimming Pool

Story

Te Kawau Swim Club was first founded on 11 March 1971. In June 1971 the club applied for affiliation with the Manawatu Swimming Centre which was granted.
The club held its first carnival on 12th Feb 1972 with swimmers from other clubs competing .The Baylis sheild donated by Mr and Mrs Jack Baylis, storekeepers of Rongotea was presented for the first time at this carnival.
The Aim of the Swimming club was to teach children how to swim, then refine their swimming style, and to have fun together as they participate as a team.
The Club holds a successful carnival in Feburary and a very good learn to swim programme each year with some of these swimmers coming to swim club.
Over the years there have been a number of cups donated by Local families. ie Galpin Cup,Te Kawau Challenge Cup,Andrew Trophy,Murray Giles Trophy,Janet Gray,Deborah Burgess and Newland Cups which are presented at the end of year prizegiving.

The Aim of the Club is to promote swimming in the local Rongotea Community.

Needs a upgraded gets boring after a while and the basketball hoop needs a net
This park is a handy stop for families to stretch their legs, with a big playground and clean toilets.
Great park with good fencing to keep little ones safe. Shame Feilding doesn't have a fenced park for littlies!
Great open space for sports, activities and athletics.
Good place to stop for a break from driving.
My mokopuna enjoyed this park.
