I wish there were high-quality pathways like this in the U.K. At the beginning and end, there are enjoyable scenic views taking you around an estuary on smooth concrete paths and wooden bridges. The middle section takes you onto main roads servicing residential housing estates and some on pathways on busy main roadssmsll the diesel from the traffic. Can be quite busy in summer at weekends. It can be quite confusing to complete the 8k loop because signs are quite poor in giving you directions.
Ducky Darby was held here on Saturday. Wonderful fun day out fundraiser. And beautiful Orewa setting look forward to next year.
Went well, some undulating hills in orewa estuary ride. Not well signposted all the way, so got a little lost and had to keep stopping and checking the auckland council map and google maps to get back the route. Busy on the weekend but easy to navigate around pedestrians and other cyclists. It's pretty and well kept, there are toilets on the route. Only 4 stars as signage not the best.
We liked the stops at skatepark, playground and some coffee shops. river in the estuary was crystal clear and suitable for swimming
Lovely almost flat ride around the estuary. Went with my two kids 13 and 15 and we had a lovely ride. Start at the car park and go past the skate park then turn left at every major path or road junction you come to and stay next to the estuary.
