Average Asian style food. Located just beside Mobil petrol kisok. Ordered - 1. a plate of combination fried rice $16, cooked with green peas, egg, bits of meat and some small shrimp. 2. Sweet sour pork $18, too much flour batter and fat on the meat. Sauce wise it's ok. If you are fussy free and just want to look for Asian food without restaurant price charge. You can come here.
Great authentic Asian fried rice! Being here on holiday, eating their fried rice really tastes like home. Portion good enough for 2 pax sharing if not a big eater Battered Blue Cod fish was nice! Chips were unfortunately so-so, nothing to shout about, but good value at NZD4 for a whole bag. Crumbed squids tastes great though! I was 4th in the queue, waited about 10mins before my order was ready - quite fast I must say it was off peak period Do note if using Paywave or EFTPOS, there is a 3% service charge Parking: Quite many car park lots avail along the street just outside the eatery, or a short walk away
I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing one-stop shop fast food spot! Not only did they offer fish & chips, burgers, Chinese fast food, and snacks like fried chicken, spring rolls, chips, and nuggets, but also a wide range of soft drinks and ice cream - both at the counter and pre-packaged. My partner and I had a delicious dinner of fried beef noodles, seafood soup noodles, spring rolls, and fried chicken. What made this joint stand out from other Asian fast food places in Australia was that they used mostly freshly made ingredients - spring rolls, fresh veggies, meat, and seafood, and even freshly made noodles instead of packaged ones.
Friendly staff, spacious store and many options on the menu. Ordered fish and chips, chicken and corn soup, and dim sims. The fish and chips were dry and below average, the dim sims were actually the Chinese money bag wontons which were also dry and tasteless. The soup was hot and good for the cold night. The wait time was long as there were many takeaway orders. Overall okay experience for a average meal.
Fish and chips rip-off with complimentary food poisoning. The smallest $12 grilled fish and the smallest $10 chips that I have ever had in my life. Everything was low quality and took more than half a hour to prepare. It was 2:30pm and there was no other costumer there. One of us felt sick and vomited soon after.Food: 1/5
Brilliant place, really nice workers. Food is delicious with tons of variety. Service is always excellent, everyone is extremely polite. The best place in town. Also, the boy working at the counterthe shorter one isn't as good at his job as the taller one with the nice shirts.
Waited over a hour for crumbed fish and chips. Weren't told how long it would be. Weren't the only people waiting. Totally disorganised. For me, I thought the food was poor as well. They need some competition. Photo of meal for 2 people, over $40.Food: 1/5
Friendly staff, the Chinese was edible and fresh but not amazing. The fish and chips was acceptable, though fatty and smaller serves. I wouldn’t probably eat here again if there was another option.
OVER PRICED TOURIST TRAP! Save money and avoid disappointment by going elsewhere The Portion is very small, food is very mediocre and basic with cheap ingredients. We Dined in, no plates provided only paper plates. They will charge you for little things such as plates or utensils. Service is horrendous! a kid will service you, after cleaning up the table for a selves the kid will suggest you to put your rubbish away outside. The kid needs provide proper service and manners! I suggest going to Subway instead for a proper meal with a stomach full as well as good value for money. I do not recommend going to the Te Anau Dairy for takeaways.
Food poisoning!!! Stay away from the fish and chips, if you want to avoid getting food poisoning. My niece and I shared a battered hotdog and we both ended up getting extremely sick she was almost hospitalised. I don't know how the owners can run their business in good conscience. We were in a group of 6 and luckily the others didn't get sick. Best to avoid this place if you want to enjoy Te Anau.
