Went there based on the specialty cars that regularly get work done there. My old girl had an oil leak, which ended up being a much more serious problem than I anticipated. The team at Lakes Automotive took it all in their stride, always kept me in the loop, were kind and courteous and the work was achieved in good time. I got my girl back better than ever and am more than happy with the service provided... so much I am planning on making them my regular shop. I went there for a simple fix for my car that was going to cost $50 for labor and cost of the part on top of that so I was expecting maybe $80 tops. They then quote me $250 for the whole thing. I was able to find the part needed for $9 at the wreckers and install took all of 10 minutes so not sure where they got those figures from considering they told me the part they were going to get was going to be a second hand part to keep costs down for me. Bit of a joke really.

Paul and the team have an amazing knowledge of all things automotive. The car parks always full & There's always a vintage car or two at the shop, & thats always a good sign. People with expensive hot rods dont just trust 'anyone' with their pride and joy.

Fantastic service by Leonie and Paul Very helpful and trustworthy with great communication. I have had my car serviced by them for a year now, they are very efficient and have kept to their time frames and quotes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Lakes Automotive, you won't regret it!

Excellent - unfortunately I posted their quote online to price check and it resulted in a very unhappy mechanic. Lakes Auto took it personally, as if an attack on their integrity. This is not true. Random strangers contacted lakes automotive online and complained - this was absurd behaviour and had nothing to do with them. The quote was not confidential. I was also contacted by random strangers agreeing with me, and multiple quotes stating cheaper and expensive but around the same price. I don't see the issue and promptly did apologise for my actions, however, I feel that other people's opinions were taken on rather than the overall action - which was to price check. Leonie then knocked back $2240 worth of business which I'll never understand - I am reluctantly going with another highly recommended business who contacted me after posting quote and paying $40 more for them to come pick up the vehicle. I would have happily gone with Lakes and still would. Lakes have done extremely good work on my other vehicle and they were good, and I'd definitely recommend. They did take a long time responding though, but I put that down to being busy.

As someone who has struggled to gain trust from any mechanic i highly recommend this place. They are trustworthy, do not charge crazy prices or look for unessecary faults. Have been here a few times and never dissapointed. Great service! I always see classics getting fixed there which is always a great look to be trusted. Thanks
