We had one of the free standing villas #10 right beside to water. A short 50m walk to the shared facilities and the common user kitchen and lounge areas.nnThe accomodation was very clean, comfortable and well supplied.nnThe reception staff member was very pleasant and helpfull.nnWith a store and hotel which serves meals until 9pm right out from the front gate, this is a really great place to stay.
A great place to bring the kids for a bike ride. A lot of open space in the field with plenty of room toy run around in. The play ground could do with a bit of care and attention though as it is very overgrown with weeds and grass which is a pity as it would be a good place to have a picnic.
Both sides of road. I had no children with me so went to the art side of the road.nThe sculpture is in a perfect place looking over the estuary where real birds make their home.nnThere is a notice board explaining about the birds and sculpture. On the Mapua side of the Ruby Bay drive you can see the fish sculpture.nnNice that the birds emerge from the top of the sculpture. Parking is limited and is is a very short distance from the motorway from Motueka to Richmond.
Great park. Easy to drive past but few actually stop. Definitely worthwhile, especially if you have kids. There is a nice playground with play things for all ages.
Interesting to read the plaques on the bird life around the the edge of the adjacent bay.There is also information and photographs on the establishment of the apple growing industry in the Tasman districtnA barbeque type table with seating is for those who wish to relax and ponder for a while.
