Food, food, food and more glorious food! When you order the "trust the chef" option off the menu, they seem to just keep bringing more and more dishes out! Each one as tasty and as fresh as the previous dish. I would dare say its too much food but how can that be a negative right? The staff are brilliant , friendly and attentive. The wait system is brilliant also, so don't panic if it's full, ask to go on the wait list, go grab a drink and wait to be text that your table is ready. Simple. Amazing place, vibe, staff did I mention the food!l - just go, you won't regret it. Vegetarian options: Lots of great veggie options
I felt i was in japan as soon as i came in. The staff reflect the identity of the restaurant. The decor and ambiance is on point. Small and cozy place. I had the seared salmon dish and it was superb well seasoned sauce not too over powering. I was a well-balanced dish. Fresh Fatty salmon and a nice tangy ponzu, a must try I reckon. Will definitely be going back.
Very tasty! Thought this would have more sushi on the menu, still pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything was very good and the servers were so nice! Space is small- not too much seating but had both indoor and outdoor options.
It was one of the best restaurant we visited in Queenstown. The food was a real treat and the drinks were flavorsome. We tried chicken tempura - tori ten, japanese pancakes, prawns skewers, grilled scallops, spicy fried chicken wings, grilled potato cheese crepe. I tried the Japanese liquor Yuzushu which is made out of a citrus fruit - Yuzu. It was refreshing,sweet and tangy. The staff was friendly too. It was all worth it :

Customer service, ambiance, food taste and presentation: 5/5! Just wow! I thought the food from the menu is expensive because from the outside the resto looks very elegant! Surprisingly the food is very affordable! Definitely recommended!
Highly recommended. Definitely make a booking so you don't miss out. Chill atmosphere and nice tunes. Staff are really friendly but it's the food that brings it all together. Trust the chef and tap beer.
Food - Super overrated restaurant. Quality was meh for Beef Tataki and Salmon Donburi. Service - Didn't get our orders correctly, obviously waitresses need to be trained well.Food: 2/5
We had a great dinner here. Having visited Japan and not been impressed by the food despite everyone raving about Japanese cuisine. Tanoshi made me enjoy this clean and lean cuisine. Hope I can find Japanese restaurants back home that can serve up such deliciousness.
