Tauranga's First Tandoori Restaurant

Story

Founded in 1993, we pride ourselves on being Tauranga's first authentic Tandoori Indian Restaurant. Family owned and operated, headed by Pradeep Patel, we aim to deliver a range of traditional Indian dishes and friendly service.

We serve each dish using the highest quality ingredients, with produce locally bought and organically sourced meat. Additionally, Gluten free meals including naan bread are also available on request.

Went for the special vegan night, as advertised on Facebook. Two in our party of four were carnivores and could still order off the main menu. We've never had a bad meal at Talk of India, and vegan night was just as delicious as their main menu. Independent restaurants are always so much better than chain ones.
Good ambience, clean place. Chef could not do a good job with the mutton biryani. The kheema paratha was also quite below average. Over all, I would not visit this place again.
I work close to this location and we go frequently for lunch. They do a $12 lunch menu which is tasty and quick. Usually a choice of curry that comes with some naan. A smaller portion than a main meal obviously considering the price but just right for lunch time.
Definitely worth a visit - great curry and the dine-in service is always brilliant. Takeaway also available though

Love this place. Fabulous food. Lamb korma is superb. Excellent owner and staff who go the extra mile to making sure you enjoy your meal. 5 stars to you.

I had chicken Tikka masala gravy was weird didn't taste like authentic Indian at all I know I'm white but I know my currys lol was disappointed gave 3 stars to be nice but currys definitely need work
