Very disappointing For the $90 cost for 2 adults you would be better to buy a good art book about Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel. What was also most unsatisfactory was the inane contemporary music playing overhead so that we were unable to use our cell phones to listen to the guide notes. Bit of a rip off in my view. Re down graded to 1 star due to appalling music.
Big spacious area; one of the better convention centres across the country. The wave shaped building looks amazing from outside. We were there recently for the Public Sector event, and the venue was superb.
A great exhibition centre where the attractions rotate on a regular basis. The ones I’ve been to were Marvel, Lego and the latest is the Disney exhibit. The area where the exhibits are being displayed can be slightly small compared to the admission prices. However the family deals are often cheaper and at times the tickets for children might be discounted. There is also a cafe on the ground floor and ample parking around including across the road at Te Papa.
Went to see Michael Angelo. Exhibition on until 22 February 2026.nAbsolutely wonderful. I didn't need to travel to Florence to see the Cistine Chapel. They bought the chapel to Welllington.nDefinitely the highlight for me. The colour, vibrancy.nHow do you paint upside down and get dimensions and figures perfect, truely amazing.nThe Other painters and Biblical scenes were an extra treat.nWhen is your next exhibition Takina?nStaff were very helpful and an asset to Takina event centre. They answered questions about process, payment, coat rack,wet coats. cafe...morning tea.nAssisted with audio programme.nMade the exhibition very enjoyable.
My first visit and most impressed with the exhibition space and the World Press Photo exhibition plus the Wellington Photo Exhibitions bring run concurrently..
