Takapuna Shoe Repairs

Terrible service. I was given an estimated cost.. and ended up having to pay significantly more!. Not only that.. he was slow.. promised 2 days for repair however it was 4 days because I had to ring him and remind him!

Probably this is the worst service I ever had with any shoe/bag repair shops. My camera bag zipper needs to be replaced. So I took my bag to this guy on 12/06/2017 for quotation. He quoted me $50 and come back next week Thursday 15/06/2017 to pick up. -I gave him a go ahead. He never got back to me on time, so I chased him up on next Monday 19/06/2017. On Monday, he the owner said not even started so come back next Monday. Again he did not get back to me by Monday 26th June. Today 27/06/2016, got the text message from him to pick up the bag. At the pick up he asked me to pay $75. not $50 as he originally quoted. I asked him the reason for the price difference but all he says '75 dollar was the original quote, I didn't give to you but I wrote it somewhere' He never shows me the quotation paper that he wrote 'somewhere' but I clearly remember, he said & wrote $50 on the quotation paper. Otherwise I wouldn't give him to fix the job He left me with no option but paying him. After the paid him I inspect the bag. And it gets even worse - He did the very poor fixing job on the bag. There are bits of glue marks everywhere on the bag inside - out, and straps etc. Sewing works are not straight and even, it looks like fixed by a kinder garden child. I wasted two weeks and $75 for a very poorly fixed bag. He definitely lacks craftsmanship and no concept of keeping timeframe with his customer. If you planning to 467 Lake Road SHOE REPAIR SHOP, take extra caution and try document/photograph everything. Otherwise, this fraud will bump up the quotation for sure!

Another quality job repair on my work boot . Very fast turn around and great price . Have always been a pleasure to deal with . Great little shop to go too .

Called the shop about some particular colour shoe polish. Very helpful. Offered to order anything I wanted. Ended up getting some from another shop but appreciated the excellent help

This guy is a genius, he does such an amazing job repairing everything I have brought in - boots, a leather wallet, suitcase among other things. Friendly and respectful service and great prices. I highly recommend.

if you are feeling guilty about the earth and sustainability I wouldn't bother getting your Nikes re-soled here. Unless you have more money than sense. The guy quoted me $95!!!! The place looks a mess too which makes me wonder.

I dropped 3 pairs of men's shoes in last week. I later read the negative review below so started to worry they wouldn't be done well. I don't question the other reviewer's experience of zip mending but my experience was that my shoes were done when promised, resoled to a high standard, avoided unnecessary re-heeling for one pair and the price was slightly under the quote. All in all a very good service by a pleasant gentleman who seemed to take great pride in his work and who knew a lot about keeping my 18 year old work shoes going for a few more years.

Gave 3 pairs of shoes and a bag lock to fix - all were fixed/repaired so promptly. Great job and a very pleasant owner who was very passionate about his work and customer service. Will definitely be going back.
