Perfect place to stay. Large clean unit with full kitchen, private rear terrace. Quiet area. Park your car right in front of unit. One minute walk to harbour. Steven the owner is very responsive. I forgot clothes when I left and Steven brought them back to me when he had to go to Auckland. That's 5 star customer service... Thanks Steven ! I highly recommend this Motel.
This motel was ever so slightly above average.nThe rooms are clean with adequate kitchen and bathroom facilities.nThe location is great. A short 2-minute walk away from a boat ramp and a nice calm beach for an afternoon swim in the harbour.nHowever, I felt it was sightly overpriced for a very basic room with little to no natural light as there are no windows, just a small slider leading to a small, kind of neglected outside area.nI booked this on short notice, and the staff were very accommodating.nnJust a pass mark for Tairua Shores Motel.
There are rooms and Chalets. Only room no 1 has the sea view, no view for all others. We were in a chalet. Although some of the furniture is worn and in poor condition bathroom furniture, armchair, the cleanliness of the room is excellent. The bed is excellent too, it's two bed together so very wide. There is also a small deck terrace with a wooden table and chairs all in need of maintenance Wood must be treated . The staff are very friendly and helpful. The laundry is shared, washing cold wash only is free, drying is 4 nz$ for 1H.
What a great motel in Tairua! Stayed a weekend, wished we could have stayed longer. Great location. Super quiet. Only a 5-10 walk along the waterfront to the town centre. The motel unit was spacious, immaculately clean and had everything we could have needed - and more! The unit had a lovely outdoor patio area and a fabulous view. We were made extremely welcome and the recommendations for eating out and activities to do in the area were spot-on! Can't wait to come back for another stay at Tairua Shores Motel! :-
