Formerly known as The Te Awamutu SPCA CARE Shelter, this shelter was the only example of a functioning No Kill Shelter in the country and the committee was unfairly "steamrolled" and 10 dogs put into Waipa District Council Animal Control (of which 8 were immediately put down) in July 2010.
