Sustainable Papakura

About

A great local sustainable market, showcasing local art, craft and small businesses and sustainable product
Run every month, generally the 3rd Sunday (except March, April)
294 Great South rd Papakura

Story

The market is heading into it's 4th year now, what started as a small local craft market run out of the Pahurehure shops has now expanded to include over on average 35 stalls and is run out of Papakura Leisure Centre.
The market is run by a community charity called Sustainable Papakura (formerly Rejuvenate Papakura ) it's our goal to help educate people on how to help save the environment through leading from example.

The markets goal is to create a community hub where people can come to learn more about going sustainable / plastic free but also seeing what talented artists and crafters we have on offer in the community.
We like to support other community groups and organisations, the small way we do this is offering a space at each market for a bake sale table to help groups with fundraising.

The Papakura library is a quiet place to come, the staff are always helpful.
An absolutely amazing building architecture and has book for everyone. They book in Punjabi and Hindi language as well. You can browse internet, take prints and do scans. You can also rent movies. Highly recommended for family with kids. Finding a parking can be a bit challenge in this area though.
Service was awesome. Wish the the children books would be more organized and easier to search for. Was not easy finding something for my 5 yr old
The ambience ,quiet ,peaceful ....the Librarians very Professional and kind.
Super nice library where mind and body are really comfortable. Im sure it beat library in North island.
Not quiet at all. The facilities are nice but it isn't really a library if there is an extremely loud preschool group in one corner. It was not possible to find a quiet space where I could not hear them, pretty disappointed in how this library trip turned out.
One of the largest labraries I have visited. Wide variety of books, large seating space, quite places to read and study
Good ground floor parking. Disabled access Free Wifi 1 GB per day
I love audio books. Sir Edmund Hilary Library has an awesome range.
Very helpful staff, not just with me but also with other visitors. Nice atmosphere and a good range of fiction/non fiction.
