Our Vision: To carry a message of hope for family/whanau of people who are experiencing a major mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, depression etc.
Supporting Families in Mental Illness Taranaki is an organisation owned and governed by its members. It is one of twenty branches up and down the country. We support and inform families with members experiencing mental illness. Based in New Plymouth, New Zealand our free services are largely mobile out to the community. We are funded by the District Health Board and we fundraise to cover operational costs.
Our Mission: To provide the best possible education, advocacy and support for family/ whanau of people experiencing a major mental illness.
We believe that families and whanau can play a key role in the recovery process for someone who experiences a mental illness.
