Story

My passion is to help clients with their garden renovation, maintenance and improvement projects. It is always great to see my clients' ideas and visions come to life, as well as the joy of re-discovering favourite plants among the weeds.

In any garden work that I carry out, my emphasis is on creating sustainable gardens with plants that suit local conditions and the specific sites within your garden, as well as the amount of ongoing maintenance and planting you want to carry out yourself.

I use environmentally sound, organic garden practices at all times and am always keen on including native plants in garden designs and planting proposals.

In addition to carrying out any gardening work you require, I am also happy to provide advice and suggestions on what to plant in your garden.

Working in your garden gives me personal satisfaction as well. I love the sheer variety of flowers and foliage that are available and seeing how they perform together. Every garden is an opportunity for me to learn more.

I recently completed the NZQA Level 3 Certificate in Horticulture via The Open Polytechnic. Over three years, I completed 17 courses that included soil improvement, maximising growing conditions, general plant knowledge and identification, weed/pest control and plant selection for specific sites/conditions.

Over the next two years I will be studying towards the Level 4 Certificate, which in essence will fully qualify me as a commercial gardener.
