Not sure where to start. Had two vege curries and spring rolls delivered which turned up with no rice so we had to cook some. There's reference to not including rice in a different part of the menu which should be made really clear when ordering curry. The curries were very thin and tasteless, had no tofu which I've never come across before. Really poorly prepped and cooked vegetables - carrots so thin and rough that they had no texture or flavour. I've added a picture of a bit of carrot in a weird shape. The fresh spring rolls are really weird too with big slices of apple in them. Not impressed at all. Unfortunately the worst Thai food I've ever had.
We stopped in for a quick meal before a movie. We ordered a main and 2 starters. The food came out fast and hot. It was so delicious. Every time I have been here I've always been impressed.Food: 5/5
Timaru's best Thai restaurant. Iced lemon tea was delicious, and Thai tea tasted a much like Malaysia’s "Cham Beng."
Good food if you choose a spice option. Their food is a bland ie not worthwhile if you don't choose a spice option NZ medium hot to Thai hot. Expect to pay about $25 for a dish, $30 for a seafood dish, $5 for rice, and $10 for delivery. This is the only Thai restaurant in Timaru, so there's no other options, but their food is still good.
Tasted great as it has done for years, but disappointed no vegetables in the dish - all meat no veges. Also had to order rice separately. Too much meat with nothing to alleviate it.
Tried first time. Garlic prawns 30$. Disappointed. Banana prawns but only 8. Dish was salty n oily which the jasmine rice 2$ helped to dampen the taste. Drink was total Thai. Don’t bother as it is just a mixture of different juices and not worth 8$. For this dish. Taste and value 2/5 Try some other dishes
Had booked 2 days prior. Unfortunately quite a length of time once seated to be offered drink options, and to take order for meals....eventually asked waitress who said they had less chefs, would be a delay, very busy. I ordered 3 starters, 1 as a starter, the others to come out as mains....however they all came out slowly 1 after another, everyone else still waiting for their main...some confusion with wait staff on instructions. Food was delicious though... Possibly reduce number of takeaway orders, and look after in house customers??
Ordered x2 beef rice. Tasted nothing like fried rice. It was obviously not FRIED rice, it was boiled rice. $44 wasted just like that. Unfortunately we couldn't finish it as it was inedible after a few mouthfuls.
Unfortunately a pretty bad experience. Ordered takeaways in the store at 6.40pm and was told the wait was 1 hour. I agreed, then placed our order 6 mains/6 entrees, and was told to come back at 8pm which is fair enough. We arrived at 8pm to pick up our food and had to wait until 8.50pm for our order to be ready. No communication or apology for the wait. The staff were pretty relaxed about the whole situation. Arrived back at our accommodation 7 minutes later to discover that all except 1 dish was luke warm. Pretty sure most of the order had been sitting in the kitchen for at least half an hour to get to that temperature while in sealed containers. The Fried Chicken entree was second grade chicken nibbles that had been deep fried for so long it was dry and tasteless. The mozzarella sticks were so cold they were solid like the Bega Cheese String Sticks and there was no hint of Wasabi in the prawns. Whilst cold, the chicken satay had a nice flavour, as did the Drunken Stirfry, Beef Pad Thai and Penang Noodles. All other dishes were a complete disappointment. The Chicken Cashew was like deep fried pieces of battered chicken with no sauce or flavour, a few slices of carrot and about 10 cashew nuts thrown on top. When you are spending over $200 and waiting for 2 hours, you expect to at least enjoy the meal, which we did not. I would avoid this place at all costs unless you are prepared to be disappointed.
The food was delicious! Cocktails were unique too! Have been there a few times and would definitely go back when I pass by Timaru!
