Another wonderful morning at Straydog Cafe, complete with sleepy dog, birds singing, local produce and most importantly sweet-strong coffee. The staff are kind and know lots about the local area so ask for tip n tricks if you're not from here. Thank SD
Great outdoor atmosphere. Lovely view of the water. Interesting variety of food and baking with a range of jams and conserves. Fast and friendly staff.
Ordered two hot chocolates which were incredibly bitter. This wouldn't have been so bad but in one of the hot chocolates we found a dead insect - maybe a cockroach. Hoping this is a one time thing and they are better on other days but it was pretty disgusting.
Very good, food good and coffee good.
Today their coffee was way too bitter. I struggled to finish mine with a lot of sugar, and saw someone who had a coffee to go tip it out 10m down the road. Hoping it’s better on other days...
A real gem of a find. The food was incredibly good and very reasonably priced- I can definitely recommend the Chatham Island Blue Cod- delicious!!!! :- Had a beautiful view of the sea also
Fabulous coffee & service! Carrot cake is delish.
Lovely little cafe that's quiet and has a view of Kaiaua beach. Serves good coffee but cabinet food. Inside is a little vege stall so you can buy some fresh local produce too. Right next door is an art gallery. I'll always call in for a quiet coffee x
