Spending a few weeks at the Strathean Retreat Centre changed me and my perspective on life. Before I arrived I was in a space of disconnection, confusion and lack of awareness. Being at the centre gifted me the key to reconnect, gain clarity and reclaim awareness & balance. On my arrival in the evening I was lovingly welcomed by Gabrielle & John, and straight away offered with a warm meal and a bed to sleep prepared by Claire. It didn’t take long for me to feel comfortable in the space, being unconditionally accepted for where I was and what I brought to the place. A sacred place of space holding for your journey, filled with teachings to master life and being one & presence. Spending my time at the centre allowed me to be the Kaitiaki of the land, the guardian and caretaker of the facilities, gardens and healing houses. The daily routine that include scheduled practices of meditation, yoga and the contribution of maintaining the land were necessary and incredibly helpful to reconnect, break through layers, peel them off and get to the core. Not only physically, but also mentally, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. Inspiring contents like regular Satsang meetings, Kirtans and trips to nature were mind-blowing and fuelling for the interest of inquiries. Constructive discussions were brought to the table and lead to profound insights. The beauty of it was that no matter what your point of view or thoughts to the subjects were, the discussions always ended with lightness and laughter. The Strathean Retreat Centre allows you to explore your Self and figure out what feels right and works best for you, while dropping helpful hints, wisdom and knowledge that might ignite and encourage you to dive deeper in to the complex simplicity of life. Hosting different events and retreats gives you the opportunity to shine light on different angles, experience diversity and ignite inquiries. To this day I am daily reminded that I wouldn’t be where or who I am without the chapter at Strathean. All the inspiring people I got to meet, techniques I got taught, lessons I learned, being held to expand myself and Self and given the allowance of space to grow and blossom. Integration into my current daily life makes it possible to be content, to flourish and full filling my core potential. I will be forever grateful that my path crossed the centres’. It reminded me how to re open my heart, to stay in it and act from the heart space. Gratitude bursts in it, as the unconditional acceptance and love especially from Gabrielle and John ignited awareness, consciousness and presence. I am blessed with every special person I got to meet along the way and can sincerely say that this place found a special spot in my heart and that I found family at Strathean.
