Limited menu but excellent burger and chips. Good value wine. Friendly host, with good fire. Very pleasant evening.
The beer was nice and cold and inexpensive. But we got them on a bad day I hope - we had a shuttle in 75 minutes and our meals didn't make it in time. No problem getting a refund but they had estimated 30 minutes.

My fiancee and I were staying the night locally as part of long road trip and stopped in here for dinner. The pub is as you would expect with plenty of Speights on tap. But the meal we were served was nothing short of exceptional. For a standard bar price, the two ladies in the kitchen prepared a meal of a quality that you'd be hard put to get paying top dollar in a city restaurant. I would recommend this kitchen to any traveller lucky enough to be in range of this fine establishment.
I've been to this pub a couple of times now and have spent our hard earned money there. Both times over the course of the past year, the food was BEYOND terrible! It was literally inedible! It actually takes talent to prepare simple food in such an awful way! It was literally tasteless, stale, and gross! So sad, as last week we could have spent all that money on food elsewhere that we could have enjoyed and actually EATEN! Be warned!!!
Pub hotel with comfy rooms and shared bathrooms. This is handy to the bike hire shop and is at the start of the Rail Trail. Good pub food and breakfast included in the room rate.
