Stratford Golf Club

"Stratford on Avon Golf Club was founded in 1894. We moved to our new course in 1924 designed by J H Taylor, five times winner of the Open, and F G Hawtree. Sam Ryder opened the new course in 1928 with Abe Mitchell the figure on the top of the Ryder Cup and three other Open champions playing a demonstration match.We have a challenging yet very picturesque par 72 course, respected and admired by both low and high handicap golfers alike. The fairways are lined by a variety of mature ornamental trees and our sandy, easy draining subsoil enables play virtually all year round."
