Have always visited Stirling point with visitors since my mum took me there as a child. This time we walked to the light house. Lovely walk along the safe track and interesting history displayed. Everyone enjoy the day out, of course with a feed of fresh oysters and blue cod.
Good spot for a photo, with a distant view of Stuart Island out the back. The toilets nearby were good. Worth a visit to say you’ve been there.
Stunning views. A must do if you visit South island. We did a little walk to get to the light house. There is public toilet on site.
Stirling Point in Bluff. Popular spot for photos and nice views at the bottom of the South Island. There is a toilet and a cafe/restaurant by the car park. You can also walk from here to Bluff Hill via the tracks through the bush, if you don't want to drive there. Only 30 mins from Invercargill
Stirling point is a beautiful little area to hike or take a walk along the beach. Lots of cute little shells to be picked over. The lighthouse down the way is quite picturesque
Just a magnificent spot not far from the anchor chain. Glad to have ticked it off my bucket list. There is also a neat little beach not far to have a swim as well.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure

Last day before flying home, drove from Queenstown to avoid the bad weather and the first snow in the mountains. Invercargill, Bluff, and then Stirling Point meant we finished our 3 weeks driving from Picton to the tip of the South Island. Extremely windy day but absolutely gorgeous with strong, beautiful wave action. Truly felt like Antarctica wasn't that far away!
