$20 return ticket on the ferry - the best way to explore the tracks, bays and birds of Ulva island. Ferry left on time, very quick and efficient.
You have to do this when you’re on Steward Island. I walked during the day and saw a kiwi It was very lucky but amazing!
Friendly, humourous skipper. Crossing is good value at $20 return and a little less bumpy than smaller water taxis. Both crossings were punctual. Ulva island is wonderful and worth taking your time.
An amazing service. Ferry runs on time but will wait if they see you coming. Water taxi was amazing we used it several times - even got a piggy back ride to the dry sand on a beach landing. Highly recommended 10 out of 10.
Rakiura provided fantastic service. As it is winter and the ferry is only operating on demand, he went out of his way to take us across to the island. He was friendly and welcoming and was back exactly at the time we specified to pick us up. 10/10 recommend!
I made five trips to Ulva Island this week, yes I am obsessed with the sanctuary all of these crossings with Rakiura and Peter. They were not only very professional and helpful, but their love and respect for Ulva shines through. I can't recommend them highly enough and I thank them for making my time here so special.
Amazing personal service. Raki goes well out of his way to make an ordinary ferry crossing a really fun experience on its own! Plus amazing destinations:
Raikura sorted us for our dream trip and then sorted us again when it didn’t go as planned. 10/10 would recommend.
