A great museum showcasing some truly incredible and out of this world thought processes of talented artists. For $10 for adult entry, you're not going to find much better value entertainment. Good engaging exhibits and stories about the artists.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I've never heard of the place until we visited Oamaru! I was absolutely in love with this place! The workmanship and talent to make this happen is insane. I would definitely recommend to go visit. For $10 entry, I was shocked at what we got for that price! It was like a mini amusement exhibition. So so SO good!!
The greatest. Even my dad enjoyed himself. Wasn't what I expected but I don't know what I was. Loved it. Very different. Blew my mind. Thank you. Never seen anything like it before.
Very interesting. Well worth the entry fee. I loved all the interactive pieces too. Some quality artwork in here and the industrial vibe was good fun. Good for kids and adults with an inner child that likes pretending to be in mad max.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Such a cool place, kids had heaps of fun with the interactiveness of the displays. Pricing was great for family outing. Felt like more things should have functioned in the first half of the displays...maybe a few broken items?‍Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Quirky exhibits with interesting stories. The yard is like an abandoned Doctor Who set. And you are encouraged to interact with most of the items. Well recommended.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Top knotch experience, very hands on with a lot of work gone into the details of the place. Great to see some old relics being repurposed and put to great use. Lots of merch to buy at decent cost, staff were really nice. Place was a little busy, but made it more enjoyable really. Wish had more time to spend there.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
My wife and I are big Steampunk fans from the UK and this has been on our "to do" list for ages. We weren't entirely sure what to expect, and initial impressions were pretty good. However, as we went further round, although there were some cleverly constructed and interesting pieces, others just felt like a random mishmash of parts, with some that looked they should do something when you pressed a button but didn't. The "white room" video in the train carriage was just weird we both went "what was *that* meant to be?" when it finished, but the mad scientist lair was very good. All in all, great concept, slightly underwhelming execution. Still worth a visit it's reasonably priced, but not quite the "wow!" experience we'd hoped for.
Definitely enjoyed our experience here. Felt like a kid as I was able to touch everything lol. Overall great experience, the only bummer as some things weren't working where it coudvle been a bit more interactive. However, I still enjoyed the alternate universe and post-apocalyptic vibe. A must see when in Oamaru. And that's what we did as first timers.
A fun excursion with very interesting and eclectic pieces of art. Fascinating story of its creator as well. This a hands on experience for the senses and a pass through a whimsical fantasy land.
